I am attempting to complete online the paper feedback form which instructs the patient to approach this site and supplies a code which it does not recognize. Typical of IT. Herewith what I have scrawled on the paper form. 1.I am likely to recommend the Day Surgery Unit at Warwick Hospital to others. 2. What was good about your care, and what could be improved? I found the care generally professional, courteous and kind. Staff from consultant (Mr Baddon) to nurses took care to ensure that I was who I am and what the procedure to be done was--and on which eye. This was checked at each step of processing through the Unit. As I had to organize my own transport to a 1 pm appointment at the last minute, I had no time for lunch and did not bring food or water. As my surgery was not until 5 pm I was annoyed hearing people say that no food or water was available to anyone pre-op 'because we don't want those who can't have any to feel bad'. It would be more honest to acknowledge limits on staff time and a desire to avoid mistakes. But I'm not clear that this emanated from staff. Post op, staff were very good about offering food and drink. 3. I was treated with dignity and respect (5) 4. I was involved enough in decisions about my care (5) 5. I received timely information about my care and treatment (4) 6. The location was clean (5) 7. I was treated with kindness and compassion by the staff. (5) 8. My age is 77 years. 9. I am female. 10. I am the patient.
