Hi All, I posted msg on my experience few months ago, I had open myomectomy in April 2013. It was not a good experience. I spent 4 days in hospital and had 31 fibroids removed . 5 large ones and the rest tiny but the surgeon said they will grow and removed all fibroids he could see. Anyway, I had one period in May2013 and no periods for 6 months. I went back to the doctor who did my operation and after many tests, scans and hystroscopy. I as told that I have asherman's syndrom (adhesions as a result of the myomectomy). I have had numerous Hysterscopies under GA to have the adhesions removed, two IUD fitted and have been taking oestrogen tablets to build my uterine lining again as the doctor put it. I have light period sometime but the endometrium is very thin. I also have to add that I have no childern yet and have been trying to get pregnant for a number of years.Personally, my myomectomy has been a nightmare experience and if I could turn the clock back, I would. The surgeon should not have entred the uterine cavity and he should have operated from outside. I have developed adhesions and my chances of having childern are very slim.
