I am autistic. During my appointment the doctor did not adjust for my communication difficulties but kept asking me different questions. I have a processing delay. My support in the appointment was spoken to rudely and told not to support me. I self harmed during the appointment due to the distress and the doctor did not acknowledge or intervene. The doctor did not see me out of the appointment and the receptionist had left so the cleaner had to let me out. Appalling experience, felt voiceless and vulnerable as my support was prevented from giving information on my behalf. This experience led to further self harm and suicidal intent.
