My husband was transferred to SGH on Friday 9th June 2023 due to loss of sight caused by a fairly rare condition called Orbital Apex Syndrome! At this point we were scared, vulnerable and unsure what the future held, as we had been told my husband was unlikely to regain his sight despite a sinus operation done by a wonderful surgeon Mohamed Fiala. Little did we know that Miss 'raji' Joganathan would be called to partake in discussions on what could be done to help my husband. At this point we had little to lose and Dr Raji took the decision to prescribe him an incredibly high dose of steroids over 3 days - to our amazement over the next few days my husbands sight began slowly to return and day by day it has got a little better up to now where it is almost back to normal. My belief is that without this wonderful, enthusiastic, caring, humorous and extremely intelligent lady my husband would by now be labelled visually impaired and our lives would have changed irrevocably! We owe his sight to this lady and her wonderful team! We trust her implicitly with his eye care and cannot say how grateful we are to have been lucky enough to meet her - she is truly a "one off" absolutely brilliant:)
