Code 1298 I had an appointment with Vascular on 18th Dec 2018 at 10.15am I arrived on time, and was called in later to see Mr Selvadurai. He had no idea why I had come. He could not access my records on the computer, nor his department's own request for my tests. He could not access my October 29th tests, nor their results. Why was there a doctor working seeing patients, who could not access the IT system? I was sent back outside to wait to be called by Ms. Renton, as I was told she could access the computer. Surely it is a waste of both patients' and staff time to have a doctor working who cannot access the IT system? Ms Renton was charming when she eventually saw me, but she also had to request the results of my tests. She explained Mr Selvadurai was new, and had not been inducted into the computer system. When the tests were done on 29th October, I was told the results were computerised and would be sent immediately to the department. Why doesn't the hospital have an IT system that works, so its own staff can access its own data? Who is responsible to manage and ensure the hospital system and staff are fit for purpose?
