Sadly I'm yet another mesh injured woman. For the past five years I've become increasingly unwell and have undergone numerous unnecessary examinations, tests and procedures and subjected to some awful comments from some of the many consultants I have seen. I became aware of the probable link in my symptoms and mesh last year and raised it with my then consultant who was very rude and aggressive and told me "to stop reading the Daily Mail" and that "because of those bloody women, he was going to suspend his clinic until the hysteria disappeared" and that "my implanting surgeon had done a good job!". At this point my trust and faith in the medical profession had been all but eradicated and I didn't expect to feel any differently after being seen by Miss Elneil. I saw Miss Elneil initially in July and within minutes felt assured that my concerns were being taken seriously. She was gentle, kind and very compassionate. When she examined me, she discovered that the mesh had eroded (something the aforementioned consultant had apparently failed to discover, despite the fact that I pointed him to an area that I could feel wasn't right). Miss Elneil explained in detail to both myself and my Husband that many of my problems were most definitely linked to mesh and that it needed removing sooner rather than later. I have had subsequent appointments with her and she is always lovely and ensures that the information in respect of my treatment is fully understood by myself thus enabling me to make informed decisions about my care/treatment. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this lady. She is a credit to the medical profession and an asset to the NHS.
