Reading the reviews of Miss Nawar Al -Shabibi i am disheartened to see that other patients have received the same treatment that i have during my appointment today. Her uncaring, rude & abrupt manor was evident from my first appointment with her, but as i felt i was finally getting help for an ongoing issue i decided to stick with her for the follow up appointment. However i now fully regret that decision as i during my appointment today i was not listened to and made to feel scared about an operation I'm having. I was told that i could be left with multiple scars, and that major organs could be damaged in the process. Although i understand patients need to be told the risks, it was presented in a way that seemed like she was trying to dissuade me from having the procedure, even though it could potentially help me in the long term. During both appointments i had people sitting in, and neither time was i asked if this was ok with me, nor was it explained to me why they were there. I found her overall approach patronising, and her response to the questions i was asking about the procedure were brash and lacking in empathy. She focused on one possible reason for my symptoms and wouldn't look outside the box at anything else, despite my own thoughts and another GP's thoughts/diagnosis. I will not be seeing Miss Nawar Al -Shabibi again, and recommend others not to either. I do not feel she should be allowed to treat patients this way, she left me feeling upset, angry and as though i had been an inconvenience to her.
