October 2021, I had a hysterectomy at Watford General Hospital. My surgeon was Ms Nandy Shetty. She came to see me before and after my surgery and I was grateful for that. We talked about my concerns, she listened and explained my options and the likely outcome. She and her Registrar were kind, good natured and humorous. During my short stay I had the good fortune to see a Consultant and or a Registrar everyday. I spoke to the Anaesthetist before my operation and she too listened and took time to explain pain management and how it would work. Ali, wheeled me to theatre and he was good natured and amusing. The theatre staff introduced themselves and they did there best to put me at ease and it’s was kind of them to take the time. To be honest, my experience at Watford General Hospital was not what I’d I expected. It was so much more. The staff at reception, cleaners, caterers, care assistants, nurses, doctors and consultants were a lovely group of people working in a challenging (BAU and Covid) environment. They made a worrying and unsettling time for me, manageable and something I was able to get through successfully. Thank you all and best wishes to you. CMP
