Dr Deeny treated me over several years. I found her to be a lovely doctor who gave me great care, listened to my worries and fears. A very pleasant and highly professional doctor. It wasn't a day hospital like it is nowadays. Years later I now find myself needing to go back to gynaecology. I really hope I am referred back to Dr Deeny.

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1998. Doctor Deeny was my consultant/surgeon. She was my lifeline.. she saved my life. I am here 23 years later because she did the right thing for me at that time. I continue to live with the fear of cancer returning but always remember how she gave me my future and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be writing this.

Dr Miriam Deeny is honestly one of the most vile human beings I have ever encountered. She lacks empathy, is unprofessional and gave me terrible advise when I was weak and suffering in pain. I suffered with severe PCOS for 8 years which went undiagnosed by Dr Deeny who advised it was ‘just my hormones’ I was also advised that the symptoms I had (bleeding for 15 weeks, severe abdominal pain, swelling) could have been in my head?! She then told me my only options, at the age of 24 and wanting a family were: a hysterectomy or early menopause. When myself and my partner challenged this and asked about alternative treatments ie laparoscopy we were made to feel stupid for even suggesting with her even commenting on grammar. I was told if I did go for this procedure she could leave me infertile and/or with a colostomy bag. This is a horrific way to treat a vulnerable patient who was suffering daily. If not for partner I could have seriously impacted my life and my dream to have a family over advice from a supposed professional in this area. I type this now as the mother of a beautiful and perfect 6 month old daughter who was conceived 9 months after meeting with Dr Deeny as I went privately to see Dr Bjornsson who is the most amazing man I have ever met who performed the surgery that he advised I drastically needed after 10 minutes with him. Please please avoid this doctor for your own health and safety as I worry if I was myself I would have made the wrong decision.
