I went for a private consultation about a gynaecological problem and was very unimpressed. I felt it was simply a moneymaking production line, Impersonal and uncaring. The consultation lasted five minutes max and if her examination lasted five seconds I would be surprised! I was perfectly polite and friendly but can't say the same for her. She rushed me out, refusing to answer my questions or discuss my problem and stood with me by her secretary's desk reciting a long list of (private insurance) codes for lots of tests and treatment I supposedly needed.
I was so unhappy with all of this that I never went back and saw a different specialist - who could not have been more different! I did need tests and treatment but not all of the stuff Ms Cardozo said, which reinforces my suspicion about private patients being cash cows.
