Miss Ashkanani was very well respected at Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary. All the staff spoke very highly of her. I had to stay in overnight following an operation and she came to check on me at 5 am next morning before going to a conference in Dundee. At a check up recently the consultant commented on how neat the scar was, one hardly noticed it.
It is very upsetting to learn that such a dedicated, caring consultant has been charged with misconduct. I am sure she will have the full support of all the patients she treated in Dumfries and Galloway. She is very special. I do not normally give email responses but in this case I feel I have to. The medical tribunal needs to know how valued Miss Ashkanani is and what a great loss to medicine it would be if she were to stop practising.
