I returned from holiday in April this year and soon after spotted a bite like mark on my right lower calf, this leg and ankle and was also red and swollen and painful.
After several visits to my GP surgery and various opinions (even a BCC). I was lucky enough to obtain a referral in early September to the Thornbury Hospital using my membership of Benenden Health.
I chose to see Dr Vinod Elangasinghe and cannot praise him enough for his complete understanding of the problem and his sheer professionalism in coming to the diagnosis of Lipodermatosclerosis together with the treatment required. I had a follow up consultation this week and he was very pleased with the progress to date and providing things carry on as now I do not require further appointments.
He is such a friendly, mild mannered and reassuring person and I would certainly seek his advice again if needed in the future.
