Dr Ghura examined a suspicious mole that had been picked up in a health screen. Using clear and simple communication, he informed me that he would remove the mole as this was the only way of determining its composition. He did not scare me with the language he was using nor did he over-reassure me which would have been unhelpful given the situation. He also replied to a follow-up email immediately.
The following week the mole was removed quickly and without any fuss under local anaesthetic. On both occasions Dr Ghura gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
The mole was thankfully benign and he has suggested a follow-up visit in January to double-check all the moles on my body.
