I was recently diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma on the side of my nose very close to my right eye. Dr Ghura carried out MOHs surgery to remove it. Although l was very nervous and l hate needles, Dr Ghura and his team helped to put me at ease. I was kept informed throughout the entire procedure but wasn’t overloaded with information. I was given very clear aftercare advice too. I wasn’t in any ‘pain’ after the surgery but l did feel a bit sore, tired and l had a slight headache. I took a couple of paracetamol and went to bed for an hour and woke up feeling ok. I had a restful two days. When l took the dressing off after 48 hours l was a bit alarmed at how gruesome my wound looked. There was a line of blue stitches, some swelling and yellowy green bruising. Over the course of the first week the swelling reduced and the bruising faded. I had the stitches removed after a week. This wasn’t painful at all. I am now 2 weeks post surgery and having followed the aftercare advice to the letter and trusting the process, l am absolutely delighted with the appearance of my scar already. It is still slightly red and a little bit bumpy but it is actually barely noticeable and a thin layer of my usual concealer covers it completely. I know that over time it will have practically disappeared. Dr Ghura is an exceptionally skilled surgeon and uses his experience to ensure any scarring is minimal. His calm professionalism helps to reduce the stress and worry about being diagnosed with skin cancer and having facial surgery. l wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him.
