In my near 81 years I have been very fortunate in spending only some 3 days in hospital. Any visit is therefore something of an un-nerving experience! That said, my visit to the Day Surgery Dept in Salisbury Hospital could not have gone better. I was met with charming and polite staff, directed to a comfortable waiting area, quickly briefed on what would happen, and then changed into a theatre gown. My particulars were very carefully checked and then I was interviewed by Dr Eldahshoury, my surgeon. With little delay I was then taken to theatre where the procedure that was to be performed was carefully explained. The operation took some 70 minutes and I was comfortable and painless throughout. On completion I was returned to the waiting area where I was debriefed, provided with follow up appointment information, handed my medication and fully briefed on after care. In summary, everyone displayed excellent professional skills, were very polite, and all contributed to a very successful and reassuring visit. Well Done Salisbury Hospital and the NHS.
