Hello, I have been thinking thoroughly about the situation that I was involved in with the health centre in Broadfield and the doctor there and I have decided not to keep silent anymore. Everything started with me needing and ringing up for an appointment because of the problems and the pains going on in the side of my body. The appointment was set to take place three weeks after the call. While I was waiting for the appointment (taking in consideration that three weeks is a long time to wait for a person who is in pain or agony) I started to get back pains as well. It was only about 10 days until the appointment so I decided to wait until then and tell the further problems about my back that have appeared during that appointment. During the day of the appointment, I arrived at the medical care centre at the given time, after arriving my waiting time was half an hour longer than the time that I was given. After being called in to see the doctor, I decided to mention about the extra pains that have appeared in the three weeks. The doctor heard what I had to say about the pains in my side and kept trying to tell me that tests are not necessary as they wouldn’t tell what the problem is. The doctor couldn’t even describe what was going on and what was causing the pain either. After a long discussion the doctor agreed to send me to have an ultra-sound test. I thanked the doctor and started talking about the problems that have recently occurred in my back as they were really painful and agonising too. Straight away before even getting into the conversation I was interrupted and told that the doctors only take patients with one problem, if there was a second problem, I was meant to register for an appointment again, which in my mind was pointless. And according to the doctor it was not fair to keep other patients waiting, even though I was made to wait half an hour longer than I should have myself? I was disappointed. After, I asked the doctor if I will have to wait another 3-4 weeks until my next appointment, as that would be a long period to wait in that kind of pain. The doctor looked at me with a blank face and told me that there was no idea of how long I was going to have to wait. I was forced to leave the room with huge disappointment and barely any knowledge about my illnesses, if any knowledge. I don’t really understand how a doctor can do that, where is the understanding of a real doctor and all of those things? This way I can’t even call the person a real doctor as the “doctor” didn’t really help me at all and showed no real knowledge of what was going on with my body. I am a working man and I can’t escape for an appointment during the working hours. And when I go to the appointment, I go because there is a real problem and not just for a chat as I am very busy most of the time. So getting an appointment at a comfortable time is very hard and when the outcome is like what I have stated above it is very painful and disappointing. It makes me feel like I don’t want to come back to that place and especially to that doctor.
