This unsung hero saved my partners life. His pioneering treatment for early stage bowel cancel at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in the Wirral is nothing short of a miracle. Until he agreed to take my partner under his care (as we live in Wales) his ONLY option in Wales was surgery which would have left him with almost no bowel and a bag with ongoing treatment for the rest of his life. He'd been given 3 years to live without this but refused the bag 'option' as was his personal right and all but begged for them to find another way. So (fair play to the Oncologist he saw at the Heath Hospital Cardiff) Professor Myint was contacted and was asked if he could help at all and hopefully treat him. He has saved his life and he didn't need an operation at all the way he treats early stage bowel cancer. Since our experience Wales are now auto sending patients to Professor Myint (shame on you South Wales Health for refusing to help pay for treatment and refusing two appeals - you only paid once the treatment worked. The stress you added was digusting) We will always be in awe of Professor Myint, his kindness, professionalism, simple way of explaining everything and humble nature are a magnificent. The ongoing care (checkups) that my partner still attends are made easier knowing that he'll be looked after - I'd like to add that his team are also phenomenal - thank you so much for everything that you do.
