Written by a patient at Flebister House Surgery

I'm hoping that this review refers to Dr Stephen Douglas Murray of Flebister House, Sanday, Orkney! If not, sorry! What can I say; the man has such a gentle demeanour and manner, which underpin quite a callous personality. After declaring me a virtual hypochondriac, during many months when he overlooked a blood test result, he then proceeded to offer me the most inappropriate treatment possible, in fact it was contra indicated. I found later in my notes that he'd managed to make no mention of his oversight or attribute any of my symptoms to it. This was very misleading for other medical professionals which followed and made me look like a complete fool because I was talking about something which they couldn't actually see in my records! I cannot recommend this doctor at any level - other than his original way of intonation. He sounds very genuine. As a rural practitioner in a remote location I feel that I would have been better served had I the alternative of seeing another practitioner - which of course was not an option - but I was very unhappy with the level of care (which was non-existent) and even more so at the apparent attempts to hide his error and leaving me to try and explain to other practitioners what had happened. I have little else to add, but only for fear of not getting this review posted. My ideal situation would be for this particular doctor to fall on his sword and take 'early retirement'.
