Absolutely first class GP who I first met back in late 2022, when Dr Anniss stood in for the doctor with whom I had an appointment at the Oakham surgery. He was very professional, he questioned, listened and acted speedily and with empathy having assessed the problem and concluded that my symptoms were related to heart failure. He then made an emergency appointment for me to be seen at the Glenfield Hospital where I was admitted and stayed for just over a week. On returning home Dr Anniss arranged to see me and reviewed my medication including providing an explanation as to the purpose of each element of the medication package. He later arranged for me to see a consultant to further review my ongoing symptoms and to carry out additional tests. A week later he called by phone and reviewed the results of the tests. Throughout, Dr Anniss has been a constant in my treatment and he has made himself available to answer questions as they have arrived, all at a time when there has been considerable turnover of staff at the Practice. Hopefully he will remain at the Oakham Practice for years to come because he works in the way that we once perhaps took for granted. I unhesitatingly recommend Dr Anniss and give thanks for all he has done for me.

Reluctantly seen after my fiancé stepped in. I can’t eat or drink as I can’t swallow as have suspected throat cancer so he told me to purée food when I can’t swallow. Phoned 111 for advice and the clinician said I need to be in hospital tonight on a drip. He asked me how I feel about throat cancer !
