After initial miscommunications and a tricky start via email as this was the only way to talk to Dr Wariyar (not his fault but NHS trust), he did eventually spend an hour with my son and I in his clinic and was extremely knowledgeable in his profession showing us detailed scans of the ADHD brain and offered some useful and practical advise which had worked well for us.

Response from Dr Sethu Wariyar

I apologise for the distress caused, that I have already done face to face I think. The following is not for you, but for just general expression. Emails are a bad for communication- but there is no other way we can otherwise be quick enough to respond to distressed parents. Often done in a short burst of sentences due to sheer lack of time in dealing with a burgeoning caseload and also added on the complexity of the cases I deal with (I sadly have the largest caseload in our clinics), it can be misconstrued as harsh and impersonal, clearly never my intention. Otherwise I do not think I would take up neurodisability as my passion and my training, without the need to care and give unconditionally. Perhaps unnoticed I am too a human being and carry home the pain and anguish of parents and dying disabled children within me on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis- and still try to be cheerful. I apologise in advance for all inadvertent inconvenience caused to all parents.
