She spent the last 15 minutes of my appointment dictating a letter that she was going to send to me. She insisted I come back for an eating disorder consultation which I said I was not interested in as the issue I had come to her for was anxiety and depression. Her opinion was that I should keep taking the same anti-depressants with the same dosage and seek talking therapy, I had already been doing this more 6 months and it was not improving the situation. I felt as though she jumped at anything that could indicate a potential eating disorder as this is her specialty. I did not come to get help with that, and who knows perhaps it is something that I should seek help with but I came to her for a specific reason and I felt it was overlooked because she was more interested in treating me for a potential eating disorder. I left the appointment feeling disheartened, ignored and started crying not long after. It felt like a waste of time and money as I now have to pay a £200 excess for my insurance.
