This doctor came to see my mother at home for what my father suspected was a chest infection . My mother was so ill she couldn't walk or sit up in bed and had been suffering for about 2 weeks, she had pain in her chest and her back. Dr Malik prescribed her pain killers (Tramadol) and referred my mother for a chest X ray, even though he stated at the time he didn't really think it was necessary. The morning after she had seen Dr Malik my mothers condition worsened she was not making sense, she did not recognise my father and was incoherent. An ambulance was called, my mum was taken into A&E and the doctors in the hospital ran some tests. by the time my mother had been given a bed in A&E we were told that her kidney's had failed, she was going into major organ failure and she had severe and by this point un-treatable pneumonia. My mother died in hospital later that day a mere few hours after seeing her GP. I can't help feeling that my mothers death may have been preventable had Dr Malik taken a little more time to check my mother over more thoroughly, perhaps if he had asked for an ambulance to be called rather than being dismissive my mother may still be alive. I am also disappointed to say that now 6 months on after my mothers death my father has not been contacted by the surgery, Dr Malik nor any of the GP's have called into check on him or apologise for missing the Pneumonia. Terrible
