Saw Dr Neame at the Bridport Medical Centre about suffering with menopausal symptoms. I am mid 40s and have been suffering terrible symptoms for several years and he implied that I was too young for it to be the menopause.
Was not keen on prescribing HRT for me because I still have regular periods, even though they are now irregular for me.
Insisted on testing my hormone levels despite agreeing with me that the test was unreliable and then proceeded to tell me that he doesn't have to follow the NICE guidelines that are set out for healthcare professionals because they are just that, guidelines.
Not sure why I thought I would get anywhere talking to him as the last time I saw him about these symptoms he told me to come back after I hadn't had a period for 12 months!
