Phenomenal human being all round, clinically outstanding, compassionate doctor. Has repeatedly gone above and beyond for my daughter with complex needs (that include a life-limiting respiratory disease and high-functioning autism) in the last 5 years, even unexpectedly appearing on the ward to see how she’s doing (or occasionally save the day when things aren’t going to plan) despite being on annual leave. The degree of care, compassion and understanding this man exhibits is beyond belief and I don’t know what we’d do without him, not least because he listens to both my daughter and I, respects our views, and embraces her specific needs in terms of communication and interaction in light of her social difficulties, anxiety and prior clinical trauma. Not afraid to admit if he’s not sure on something in the face of an annoying parent like me that researches *everything* to the nth degree, but always quick to ask the people that do know where appropriate. Humble, cheerful, caring, thoughtful, calming, tenacious, unbelievably dedicated; the list of positive attributes is endless and a lot of other doctors in both paeds and adult care could learn a huge amount about bedside manner and listening skills from this man.
