Dr Niven Akotia was amazing at putting me at ease and giving me advice for pain relief after a minor op. I had a serious sexual assault via Rohypnol a few years ago and as such, I had worried for weeks about going under GA. I didn't want to feel woozy and I didn't want to remember anything about my previous assault, I feared I would wake up and have a PTSD response to memories. I had also convinced myself I might not wake up at all, as I had never had GA before. Lot's of 'what if's', lot's of fear of the unknown. ' He spent time listening to me, taking charge through my rambling as I was VERY anxious indeed.
He was honest, professional, has a great sense of humour but more than anything he was confident I would be ok and true to his word, I woke up feeling amazing! I can't praise Dr Niven Akotia enough. Thank you so very much
