My daughter recently had a blood test that was abnormal, the results were delivered by a text message not even explains them, the text message was so condescending and unhelpful, all we wanted was a conversation about treatment options. We have tried for 2 weeks to get a telephone appointment, we finally got one but we had to be available all day, however the doctor has rung in sick, they could have at least rung to say this, instead of us waiting all day for an appointment that was never going to happen. We would have been very happy to speak to someone else but apparently we were not allowed this option. Why were we not informed as soon as the doctor had phoned in sick. Do you really think a text message is adequate for abnormal results- shouldn’t you be able to discuss them, and why couldn’t another doctor discuss the results..
