My son saw this doctor on 3rd July as a follow up to previous visit about 3 mths ago. Dr Misch on the first occasion said I dont know why you are seeing me I am a skin cancer doctor. (This appt had been given to us by Kingston Hosp and we believed it would have been with a dermatologist). The first time my son saw him, he appeared disinterested and unbelieving of my sons symptoms but sent him away with antibiotics and cream. We were horrified when we were called in to see him again yesterday. He asked how my son was and introduced us to a female medical student (did not ask if we minded her being there). There was also a female 'nurse' (not introduced) - in a green uniform who didnt acknowledge us. The doctor had classical music playing in the background and appeared to be moving to the music. He asked me to leave whilst my son was examined and much to his embarrassment the medical student was present during an anal exam. After some 5 mins my son emerged clearly distressed as said 'he doesnt believe there is anything wrong with me and wants me to see someone else. I was then readmitted leaving my son sitting outside for at least 5 mins while the doctor inferred to me that he thought there was something more to my sons' problems - did I know what it could be?? When I advised he was a perfectly normal 19yr old who was worried about his health, he clearly didnt believe me either and wasnt taking us seriously. Eventually my son was brought back in and Dr Misch then proceeded to dictate a letter to our GP whilst we sat there and listened - his last line being - 'he' may need counselling! He said we could ask our GP for some cream which may help - but my son asked if he could pls write out a script there and then - which he did. He has also suggested in the letter that our GP should arrange for a visit to a proctologist. His parting words were - 'I think you might like this card' and handed me your contact details. My son should never have seen this doctor in the first place and has been considerably distressed by his off hand/almost humorous approach and total disbelief that my son has a medical problem. I hope that these details will lead to some kind of investigation as I would not want anyone else to go through this experience
