As a collegue I have found Dr Lewis to be supportive, helpful, communicative, encouraging and willing to learn from others. If ever I have a concern about a patient, he will always try to make himself available, and will do a joint visit if necessary. Unfortunately, some clinicians may make a juniour colleague feel uncomfortable for asking what might be deemed as an "irrelevant or stupid " question; Dr Lewis never makes anyone feel this way. He is very "nurturing" in his manner and encourages "open questions" where you feel you can develop and learn as a clinincian. Dr Lewis' demeanour and practice is able to facilitate an "open" and "safe" working environment. With respect to patients and their carers, I often hear them say how wonderful he is and that he is such a kind and caring man. On observing his practice, I feel he actively listens to the narrative of the patient and their carers; he is very gentle in his manner, and is patient, kind and friendly. Dr Lewis is very conscientious and will go that "extra mile" for patients/carers...and colleagues. He is able to enjoy good humour with patients, carers, hospital staff and colleagues alike.
