Today I found Dr Clowes helpful and felt that he listened attentively to what I came to discuss with him. He reassured me that the steps I had already taken to improve my health were positive and that I should continue with these. With regards to constructive suggestions, I became upset during the consultation, and whilst he was processing a sick line, I found myself looking around the room for a tissue, eventually taking a paper towel from the dispenser above the sink in the room. Other doctors I have seen in similar situations would offer the patient a tissue; a very simple act that conveys a great deal of care and empathy towards a patient.
