I was fortunate enough to meet Dr Radvan in 1996. Prior to that, my cardiologist was an abrupt uncaring person. The contrast could not have been greater. From then until 2015, when I moved away from the area, I found him a man of compassion, kindness, and an outstanding cardiologist. In late 1998 I needed a valvectomy which I had at Southampton General but which preceded endocarditis. In early 1999 I was in a ward at Royal Bournemouth when, late one evening, he discovered this and immediately got me on an ambulance for treatment, again at Southampton. It was 10.30 PM. He was still in the hospital. He sent ALL his scan print-outs of that day with me, to avoid any delay! I was extremely ill but pulled through and had a replacement aortic valve fitted. In the years after, he always kept a close eye on me, with TOE tests, CT scans, aortagrams, etc.. Always keeping me informed. By far, the best physician I have ever encountered. I am about to be 80, thanks to him.
