I went to Dr Benard with what I imagined to be a chest cold. He immediately identified it as something much worse, and referred me to hospital, where I was admitted. Throughout, he kept in touch with me, called my wife for updates, and ensured that we were fully informed as to what the hospital was reporting back to him. I could not have wished for a more understanding, sympathetic and above all knowledgeable GP.
