My son who had a fever was seen by Dr Gbelee as an out of hours GP patient. Dr Gbelee was impatient during the whole consultation and spoke in a condescending tone when asked to further clarify things. He even suggested that we look up on the internet if we wanted further information regarding the diagnosis which was scarlet fever. I wanted to double check the frequency of administering Calpol to my son and his response was to read the instructions on the box. He was not very clear hence I felt we needed to ask questions but with every question his impatience was becoming more and more evident as with his condescending tone. I was particularly worried about my son’s symptoms especially with the Covid-19 virus spreading and I did not need to be made to feel I am fussing over nothing. Any parent would want to double check that they understood correctly what’s going on with their child and how they could help so asking questions to clarify should be met with patience and understanding. I did not feel this was the case and Dr. Gbelee should really reassess the level of service he is providing to his patients.
