I recently moved to the area and it was suggested by my housemate that I needed a 'general check up' as I was a new patient. I made an appointment and had to wait a month or so, but this didn't bother me. On the day of appointment, Dr Taylor was obviously running behind and I was an hour late being seen. Again, I understand this happens and I didn't really mind. However, on seeing the doctor she seemed very rushed and uninterested. Yes, I was the last patient to be seen and she undoubtedly wanted to get home..but after 12 hours at work and then waiting ages in reception, so did I! No excuse for making any patient feel unimportant - this can be dangerous. Anyway, I was simply told she doesn't do check ups so I'll have to make another appointment. I also enquired about another issue and was told she doesn't deal with that either. But once she let me explain, she admitted this may be serious, so she would refer me to an appointment and contact me within 10 days with more details. A month later, no such contact had been made so I rang reception. The receptionist was helpful, although since no notes had been left on the system she was unable to advise further. She sent a message through to Dr Taylor with request to contact me, which she did later on that day. I was confused as to her explanation of this delay - 'like yourself, I have found it hard to find an appointment slot'. I wasn't supposed to be booking the appointment, she was! And if that was the case, why did it take a month and me chasing her to get a date? Overall, good surgery, friendly reception staff but WILL NOT be seeing this doctor again.
