Dr Diana saw me in a timely way and had a team round her who arranged for all the supporting tests (blood tests) to be undertaken quickly. The team were engaging and welcoming. Dr Diana conducted the appointment in an efficient and considered way scrutinising the data carefully and engaging with me in a direct way. As my condition is serious(cancer) she did not tip toe around difficult conversations, and asked me first if I wished to consider statistics for life expectancy. When I confirmed yes, she was direct. I felt Dr Diana provided a valuable human side to the relationship in terms of her optimistic and upbeat attitude to my illness, stressing the positives which were evident for instance, the helpfulness of good blood test results. This helped my mental attitude following such an important meeting with the woman in charge of my case. Overall, I felt Dr Diana listened to me and reacted to information and altered aspects of the treatment plan to adjust to new information (for instance, chest pains due to the injections). I also felt reassured that she was examining wider aspects such as my Vitamin D levels, citing evidence that was pointing to improved results. Finally, I was impressed by the warm relationship that Dr Diana has with her staff e.g Lisa, medical secretary, because this reassures me that Dr Diana is an approachable and open medical professional, which means that she is more likely not to make missteps or oversights with cases because there is a platform for effective teamwork.
