Written by a NHS patient at Baslow Road & Shoreham Street Surgeries

I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Deirdre at Shoreham Street Surgery in Sheffield. I was going through a horrendous burnout, work related. I was hugely stressed, had chronic insomnia, fuelled with crippling anxiety. The work related stress made me suicidal. I saw Deirdre on several occasions She was cold, lacked basic empathy and overall, not a nice doctor. I was intensly tearful in consultations and she would either deadpan stare at me or make comments like, 'I've been told it's a great place to work' despite me telling her I had become mentally unwell due to work stress initially. To go through something mentally traumatic that made me suicidal (that still impacts me today) and, when I needed help and support I had to go through the above is horrific. I later learned through a consultation entry deirdre had inputted on my notes her personal biased came through as she made an entry siding with my former organisation despite her seeing me at crisis point her ugly personal bias came through. Audits should be monitored on medical doctors in relation to patient ethnicity and how racial bias carries out in medical 'care'. You have to have a certain character trait to behave in such a inhumane manner.. All that education yet zero skill or care. From my experience with her, I got the vibe from her behaviour, 'I can say what I want because I'm the doctor'. Appalling, 'doctor'
