After the closure of pain medication and the excellent services of Dr Lourdes Gaspar I elected to transfer to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and researched Dr Malik. My first meeting with him was on time and I felt totally unrushed. He checked the holistic issues not just open symptom or pain location. He listened to the background and created a plan going forward which included scans to look at key areas, discussions with surgeons from other specialist areas, MRI scan and a series of diagnosis then treatment in specific areas. His professionalism, bedside manner, understanding and care was very high. Sadly the administration behind the appointments and carrying out his requests has been less than satisfactory and has left Dr Malik, Ward staff and myself vulnerable to mistakes and failure to carry out his plan of treatment. I would not hesitate to recommend and have confidence in Dr Malik skill, experience and knowledge in the area of pain management. He is though, let down by administrative, appointment setting and plan following staff at the QE Birmingham.
