Doctor link works well, but only for patients who are used to doing things on line. System then falls down badly, no response was received from the surgery to book a doctor's appointment. I had to 'phone the surgery to discover the time of a video appointment. When I received the pre-appointment message for me to set up video link, there was not enough time before the person called. This was not a Doctor, but a post graduate who took details and then had to ask a doctor's advice, telling me that I would be contacted by the surgery to have a face to face consultation with a doctor. Again no contact was made by the surgery so I had to phone to get an appointment. I had to travel to Sutton Benger Surgery 13 miles away for this appointment. Dr Bartlett then told that I should get another appointment with Dr Bowen at Beversbrook Surgery on Tuesday. No contact was made by the surgery, so I again phoned and was told that they couldn't give me an appointment time until Tuesday. I then asked to speak to the Practice Manager. I was put through to a patient co-ordinator who said he would book me in for an appointment on Monday afternoon at 3pm, but it would have to be a video appointment. Dr. Bowen 'phoned me on Monday on my landline - not a video call. After a conversation with him he booked me in himself to see him at 9am on Tuesday. If you are ill you need to feel you are being cared for, you do not need all this unnecessary delay and worry. The system is very cumbersome and extremely time wasting for both patients and doctors.
