Dr Fernandes was the Psychiatrist on duty on this day, this was a phone call appointment prompted by the Crisis Team which was realistic for us at this time.
I found Dr Fernandes a very good listener, he did not just wade in and give blanket information. He did not in any way rush this appointment and stopped at every point to give opportunity to comment. He was understanding and gave very helpful, detailed advice. He spent time talking to me as parent, then daughter privately as the service user, and then both of us together on speaker.
He also made an adjustment to medication which was very key.
He was polite, professional, and was very good at explaining things in a way that could be understood and grasped, he intentionally made time to do this.
