I was referred to Dr Manisty after 15 months of persistent atrial fibrillation caused by a long-term chemotherapy drug which I am taking for CLL. Dr Manisty heads the St Bartholomew’s Cardio-Oncology unit. The service at the unit is truly exceptional. Dr Manisty and her outstanding team offer empathy, professionalism and world class cardiac medical knowledge and understanding. From the first appointment I felt reassured that I could trust her. I felt that she was the doctor who was going to find the answer to enable me to lead a normal life again and where AF would be a thing of the past. Liaising with my Oncologist and other senior specialist staff at Bart’s I have at last found relief, though it took several attempts with various drugs to find the combination that suited me. Dr Manisty is very kind, she is down to earth and explains medical jargon in a way that a non-medical person can understand. Without hesitation I would say that Dr Manisty and her team have improved my quality of life 100%. The unit offer a flexible approach where the patients' needs come first. In my case if I had a worry I would email the unit Research Nurse Meddy, and I would always get a quick response. Appointments to see Dr Manisty or one of her staff are made in a timely manner.
