My Mum (92) has been in and out of hospital over the last four weeks after a series of falls.  Due to the Covid crisis the imperative was to send her back home to a care regime that I knew was not appropriate for her needs.  I believed another fall was inevitable with potentially catastrophic results.  Dr Chandu saw Mum in A & E, took onboard her situation and realised that sending her home was likely lead to further falls and hospital admissions - a relentless cycle that is neither in the interests of the patient, or the NHS. Dr Chandu ensured Mum was admitted to a ward giving us, her family time to arrange care for her.  I would like to commend Dr Chandu for his empathy in recognising a frail and vulnerable person in distress, and having the vision to interpret the protocols in a less rigid manner to ensure her future safety
