Dr O'Carrigan phoned on time, was pleasant and helpful. He said he would chase up the matter of the Denosumab injections - which sharon had said MIGHT be possible locally and he did. A nurse - possibly Jennifer phoned the local surgery who have responded positively with an application to their CCG to allow them to prescribe this drug. I am not clear though what happens until a decision is made - as I am due an injection mid Sept. Decision likely to take 4/6 weeks. Or how it will be managed thereafter - who will initiate the apts in future? I make my own apts for FBC's and have now fallen into the right pattern. But I assume, maybe wrongly that if this drug is agreed it would only be ordered in when an apt is due. although local injections seem desirable I am getting a bit worried about fragmentation of my care generally. I can no longer access FBC results on My Chart which is not helpfuI* when I get an unexpected call from our surgery. See below. I understood perfectly the reasons for changing procedures due to Covid - and that as I am on tablets I didn't need to be there every time and as hotel stays have not been possible anyway if apts are late - not having to travel has been a blessing. I can't after one call say that I trust this Dr, or that I recommend him BUT I have NO reason not to do so, based on the contact I have had so far. He certainly listened to my concerns - but did need to slow down a bit - the line was a bit echo - ie. He said he was unable to access my FBC results - but someone would call me if there was a problem. * I had a call from the local surgery Friday to say that the CA-15.3 levels are not right and a GP is phoning me on Wednesday. That was from the bloods they took because I am on methotrexate. sorry this is so long - hope it makes sense have had a nauseous day and have only just logged on. I hope this is constructive not destructive.
