Dr Praseedom did not listen to anything I said and explained to her. She had no experience of complex trauma and the impacts it has on a person. She kept trying to force diagnoses on me, which didn't fit with my symptoms at all and refused to listen when I tried to stand up for myself. She would say she would contact my next of kin to speak to them, alongside my therapist of 5 years who knows me better than anyone, and never did these things. My therapist did keep phoning the ward and managed to speak to a junior doctor, who listened and took on board what my therapist had to say which was positive. When the junior doctor tried to pass this on to Dr Praseedom, she refused to listen or acknowledge any of it because it didn't fit within her view and concept of complex trauma symptoms. It felt like she was just trying to get rid of me, and didn't give a care at all to my struggles and my four overdoses. Her treatment felt inhumane and caused me more damage and more fear of medical staff and makes it feel impossible to reach out for help when in a crisis or suicidal, as I'm scared of ending up under her "care", or lack there of again. She was uncompassionate, uncaring, stubborn, refused to listen, critical, and treated people like they were crazy and completely unable to have a view and opinion about their health and care. Other patients on the ward had similar experiences to mine, and faced similar scrutiny and lack of care.
