I came to see Dr Allyson Parry after my mum died. I wanted to be checked for hereditary NF2. Dr Parry from the outset was amazing. Her knowledge, understanding and kindness were insurmountable. But added to this she helped to save my life. Not necessarily in the traditional sense. But whilst she went through my medical history and listened to me tell her my own version of my health, she suggested that I may have ADHD. I was at that point 49 years of age. She spoke to those closest to me, checked my history, was and still is extremely patient and gave me a number of questionnaires to fill out. Once she had reviewed all of this, she very kindly sent me for an appointment with an ADHD Dr. The diagnosis was confirmed and now nearly 3 years on, my life has changed. I finally feel like I am somewhat in control of my ADHD. I have a far better understanding of myself and I absolutely love my ADHD. Without it, I would not be my quirky self. I continue to be monitored by Dr Parry, she is an immensely talented Doctor and such a lovely lovely lady. She gives me many links to follow. Articles to read and I adore her for it, I have a fierce desire to know all I can about ADHD and she kindly feeds into that for me. I would highly recommend her as a Dr, and I credit her along with my GP and my ADHD Dr as those who have truly saved my life, by giving me back my life.
