I’ve only just moved to this area and I have seen this doctor twice. Great advice with my shoulder and arm and very good advice on my arthritis in my ankles. I felt that he listened to me and advised me and assisted me in making quick decisions to help with me to be able to carry on With my new job and , my new life .

Alex has been my doctor for many years. He is a great doctor - personable, knowledgeable and kind. He is responsive and proactive, even in the context of such high demands on GPs at present.

I have been with Dr Thornton-Smith since Dr Mott retired, he knows me well and always makes me feel comfortable and at ease. He listens to me.

Dr Thornton-Smith is always incredibly friendly, personable and I trust his expertise implicitly. I and my family have all been under his care for many years and he's seen us go through a variety of things and been thoroughly supportive throughout. I also get the sense that he's is the glue which holds the practice together. He seems to be hugely engaged with all aspects and is down to earth and friendly but also scrupulously professional. I can't recommend Dr Thornton-Smith and the Arundel Surgery highly enough.

My family regard him as a friend; he is highly professional, kind and very understanding. We have differing views on some drug treatments and vaccines but his professionalism is such that this is not a problem in practice. As is widely the case in the NHS, I think natural remedies and interventions (e.g prebiotics) could be promoted more vigorously. (I was pleased that a natural remedy was recommended during the recent consultation.)
