Peter got straight to the point and made his observations clear. Everything that he told me to expect to happen occurred, and I was prepared for it.

Mr Domos treated me several years ago for a shoulder condition, under the NHS. The operation went well, created minimal aftercare issues and has not since recurred. I subsequently requested a private consultation with him for a different condition in my other shoulder. Mr Domos was very flexible about offering his services, despite some strange requests from my private health care provider. He has done his best to avoid unnecessary surgery and clearly has my best interests at heart, rather than a desire to generate income by performing multiple procedures. He is friendly, intelligent, a good listener and very happy to answer technical questions thoroughly. There is no sense of being patronised or otherwise treated as an unintelligent patient. My 'new' condition is currently stable. I would have no hesitation in using his services again.

I had just said to a member of the Orthopaedic Team at Barnet Fracture Clinic that I didn't want to go into hospital and I didn't want an operation (due to Covid 19 fear) when Peter Domos entered the room. He was the expert in Surgery for my type of broken shoulder. Mr Domos was down to earth explaining the surgery I could have at my level of understanding. He had a sense of humour and great personal skills but he also was passionate about what he does. I was very clear what it would entail if I went through with the operation and he was very clear about how he would be on the journey with me throughout. We agreed a night to consider and he rang me next day for my decision, again with time to reassure me. That was Saturday; I had a reverse shoulder operation on the following Wednesday and was home by Thursday. All as promised. Three months later I am now doing physio to get the maximum movement and strength back in the joint and everything has gone as promised and planned. I am so pleased that I went ahead with the operation and recommend Mr Domos for everything he does. He is a great surgeon but importantly his people skills are excellent and he always did what he promised me before and after the surgery. If he saw me in fracture clinic for a routine check up he would always see me himself. This on top of his routine follow up appointments with me.

I sustained a proximal humeral fracture of my dominant arm in May 2020. This was very traumatising for me as I had never used trauma services before . I met this surgeon 5 days post fracture at the review clinic at Barnet General . He suspected and diagnosed further complications at this review . I was shocked beyond belief. He told me what he proposed to do and appraised me of the planned outcome and potential complications . He reassured me that he would “make me better”. I felt very reassured about what he said ,how he said and moreover how he engaged momentarily with me whilst I absorbed what had happened and needed to be done. He was professionally empathetic. The surgery was a success . I was discharged in November 2020 ,very grateful to him and his very competent team .

Prior to the operation, Mr Domos outlined exactly what he would do during surgery in order to repair my fractured and dislocated elbow. This was done at the Fracture Clinic at Barnet Hospital, and he stressed that after surgery I would need to play an active role in exercising my arm in order to regain movement. This was extremely helpful, and at all times Mr Domos used language which was easy for me to understand. The actual surgery was successful, and I was only required to stay in hospital for one night. After the operation, Mr Domos, and his team, saw me on a further two occasions to assess my progress, check the wound, and ensure that I followed a suitable exercise regime. In short, I have been extremely satisfied with my experience, and would certainly recommend Mr Domos to anybody requiring Elbow / Shoulder surgery.
