I was terrified about getting surgery because I have had bad medical experiences and also I’m autistic. Mr Ntanos was aware of this and worked hard to put me at ease from my initial consultation with him through to having my dressings removed.
I was very scared about having the IV put in, in theatre so he held my hand and chatted to me to distract me, it didn’t hurt at all and I barely noticed it.
I received a high level of care and have had minimal pain and discomfort. I’m very happy with my results so far (only 4 weeks along) and with the support I received after leaving the hospital.
Mr Ntanos literally saved my life and is an amazing ally. All the staff were respectful of my pronouns and gender. Very happy
