Mr. Gudsoorkar is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Medical Retina and Uveitis. He is based at Musgrove Park Hospital, Bridgwater Community Hospital and has practicing privileges at Nuffield Hospital, Taunton. Mr Gudsoorkar completed his Ophthalmic specialist training in Wales, working in University Hospital of Cardiff, Morriston Hospital Swansea and Newport eye units. Following further specialist fellowship training in Retinal disorders and Uveitis at Bristol Eye Hospital, he was appointed as a consultant in Taunton. He specialises in the management of medical retinal disorders including Diabetic retinopathy, Retinal vascular disorders and Uveitis. He has extensive experience of using pattern lasers, intravitreal therapies in management of wet macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema and retinal vein occlusion. He performs high volume cataract surgery as well as phacoemulsification combined with intravitreal therapies in patients with diabetic maculopathy and Uveitis. He also manages general ophthalmic problems including eyelid cysts, glaucoma, watery eyes and performs laser procedures including YAG capsulotomy , iridotomy and retinal photocoagulation.
