I was admitted to Blackburn Hospital following a bad fall whilst running. Diagnosed with four broken ribs and collar bone, there was extreme pain which was difficult to cope with, despite much oral medication. Dr Jason Lie and the 'pain management team' at Blackburn put forward the possibility of a pain reduction infusion of a nerve block, carried out through my back to an area central to the location of the ribs. Further administration of the pain was to be maintained by regular 4 hour top up.
Within moments of set up, the reduction of pain was clearly apparent.
I was extremely pleased with the results of the treatment and also the help, support and explanation given by Dr Lie and his team throughout the process.
I was put at ease the whole way through, he understood I was nervous and talked me through what was happening at every step.
Thank you Dr. Jason for the wonderful attention given by yourself and your colleague on Tuesday 26th March, when I came in for biopsy and laser treatment of the tongue, followed by the wonderful care of Mr. Cousins.
I was reassured by your thorough discussion pre-surgery and consequent follow up.
Thanking you and wishing you happy days ahead.
Elaine Riley.
Gave great advise about the procedure I was having and kept me calm.
Attended Burnley General Hospital for a planned Knee replacement surgery on 15th February 2024. Dr Lie came to see me on the ward and reassured me he again brought me with the anaesthetic nurse from the waiting area to the clinical area chatting on the way both nurse and doctor worked well together making a great team . He visited me on the ward to reassure me after the avent.
Great doctor would recommend.
Thanks so very much.
