I have been attending therapy at Richmond Physio now for about three and an half years. I have used Richmond Physio as may main source of rehabilitation as I have recovered from several lower spinal surgeries (micro-discectomies) for two prolapsed discs. The clinic itself is extremely well managed by Caroline Obergan. Appointments are made efficiently and with ease and with the newly implemented digital system, you now even receive a reminder email regarding your appointment. Caroline and her staff are always incredibly welcoming and very happy to hep you make any changes you need or answer any questions that arise. All the equipment is quite up to date and the work areas are kept clean and tidy. In my time there, I have worked with a few therapists (due to vacations, scheduling, repatriation, etc.) and I can say that everyone I have met is not only well trained and experienced but also thoroughly dedicated to patient care. Over the last two and an half years I have mainly worked with Bridget Burleigh for physiotherapy and Edel Casey for massage therapy. As I have travelled my long road, Bridget has been the calm, knowledgeable and caring force that has steadfastly guided me to recovery. First and foremost, Bridget’s technical skill is highly impressive and difficult to match. It is reflective not only of her formal training but also of her depth of experience and her genuine passion for the industry. This, combined with her unwavering determination to improve your condition and quality of life and her natural affinity for patient care, produces an excellent quality of service and one that I value a great deal. She has always placed my well-being as the sole priority and has honestly guided me with the tempo of my rehab (when to reflect and slow things down a bit to allow healing and when to push forward hard). I feel very confident in her care. Edel is the best massage therapist that I have ever encountered (and after 10 years of work, I have met many). Edel has a natural ability that to find the necessary pressure and trigger points that are causing your pain and challenging your recovery. I think that also what makes her unique is her desire to continue her Master-level education in the industry. This knowledge is continuously brought into her sessions and shared with her clients. She also happens to be a delightful person.

I have been working with Kate after having arthroscopic surgery on my left knee. I had a problem with post-surgical swelling limiting movement and recovery so Kate recommended using their Compry Cool machine at home. It is a compression cooling machine that circulates icewater and pressure around the joint. I used the machine for a week, 4 times per day and the swelling was reduced by more than 80% with visible results everyday after the first few days. It is very easy to use and has allowed me to get on with normal recovery exercises. I would highly recommend using this machine for any swelling. Only downside is its cold!!
