Excellent service

I was referred in March 2022, got my first appointment in August 2022, started titration in January 2023.
I was extremely impressed by this service, I know some people who have been on the waiting list for an ADHD appointment via normal NHS route for 3 years.
My consultant really understood my issues and helped me make links to my childhood highlighting my ADHD and I felt really respected and felt very comfortable opening up to him.
My prescriber was helpful, informative and quickly responded to any queries I have.
I have already recommended this service to friends who are struggling with the same issue and told them what a positive experience I have had.

Felt I was listened to and spoken to adult to adult. I liked that communication was very frequent and clear. Lots of information about treatment was given and I always had to agree to treatment before it was passed. I found the prescriber particularly helpful. She always listened and helped to make me feel safe and included in the decision making.

This was all done online which I think I prefer so I am very grateful for this service. I haven't had much interaction being a new patient but the interaction I have had has been amazing and I would recommend this service.

Dr Sadiq and Helen have been incredible over my year of titration. They have been very supportive in helping me find suitable treatment (while being understanding of my terrible response times)!
Initially, I was alarmed upon hearing that I was being discharged, but the team put me at ease.
It has been a life-changing year for me, and I can't thank everyone enough!

The staff were so kind and helpful and I always felt looked after throughout my care. Even as a remote service I still felt that they dealt with me with the utmost concern.

The team handled my titration period after being diagnosed with ADHD professionally and always got back to me promptly if I had any concerns or questions. My prescriber Ryan was lovely and supportive the whole way through and in general I have only had a positive experience using Psychiatry-UK

Wonderful experience, they were helpful and patient. Any worry I had I felt safe to ask, which they were able to reassure and inform me.
Even though they are working hard managing a large volume of patients, I consistently felt heard and taken care of.

Psychiatry-UK helped me make one of the most important decisions of my life to go on medication and receive an official diagnosis for ADHD. There is no benefit to having ADHD but there is a huge benefit in receiving a diagnosis and finally knowing thats what you have been struggling with for so long. There was a long wait to be seen by a doctor, however this is unfortunately the way it is due to the overwhelming demand for such services and a large amount of people finally making the difficult choice for themselves to seek help. I can say the wait was definitely worth it as I had an amazing doctor and prescriber to assist me throughout the process. I felt as though I was taken seriously and listened to the entire time and they gave me the space to advocate for my own needs. I would highly recommend Psychiatry-UK to anyone who is struggling, I just wish I had done it sooner. Anyone who is discouraged by the wait time, I would say just do it because I promise it will be worth it in the end.

We are so pleased to read that your experience has been so positive and that you feel you have made the right choice in seeking diagnosis and treatment. As you have noted, our service has become extremely popular, but we are continuously working to recruit more staff and improve our processes in order to reduce wait times.
I had a great experience with my titration nurse in terms of quick responses, keeping my up to date with things, answering any questions I had and more.
The only thing I would say is due to the reasons I am going through tritiation, I am indecisive and find it hard to see changes and so on and often need guidance and direction so I struggled with saying for definite if something was the rite thing for me or really working as it should…I’m not sure what could be done to support this but it’s one thing I struggled with. But my nurse was supportive.

It is good to hear that you had a good relationship with your titration prescriber and felt supported and informed throughout the process, despite struggling a little when it came to making decisions about your treatment. Hopefully you are now settled on your medication.
